Membership
In order for a person to become a member of Summit Baptist Church, the following requirements must be met.
Salvation: A person must be a Born Again Christian having repented (turned away from sin) and put their full trust in Jesus Christ alone for their eternal salvation. It is by grace that we are saved through faith not by works.
Baptism: A person must be baptized by Summit Baptist Church after salvation, or have previously been baptized by a church that practices and believes like that of Summit Baptist Church. Baptism is by immersion only and carried out by the authority of a Bible believing church.
(Baptism does not save a person and does not make us right with God. It is an outward expression of the saving work that Christ has done in our hearts. Baptism identifies us with the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.)
We accept members 3 ways:
1. Salvation & Baptism - After a person has come to Christ through repentance and faith and they wish to be baptized.
2. Transfer of Membership - A person has been saved and baptized by another church that practices and believes like that of Summit Baptist Church and wishes to move their membership.
3. Statement of Faith - A person has been saved and baptized by a church that practices and believes like Summit Baptist Church but they are no longer a member of said church.
